Is mandated to provide rehabilitation and reintegration activities to inmates in addition to generating revenue for ZPCS activities.

It has the following sections under it;

Rehabilitation in the Prisons context refers to planned intervention which aims to bring about change in some aspect of the offender that is thought to cause the offender’s criminality, such as attitudes, social environment, personality or mental health. The intervention is intended to make the offender less likely to break the law in future.

COMPONENTS OF REHABILITATION

This involves imparting the individual with various academic, agricultural and technical skills that will enable one to find employment or to engage in activities that are necessary for their life after prison.

These activities include:

Under the academic and professional rehabilitation, inmates are afforded the opportunity to undergo basic to tertiary education that is, grade 1-7, Ordinary and Advanced level. There are quite a number of institutions that offer long distance courses and arrangements are made with these to enable inmates to sit for examinations.

This involves the use of counseling and psychotherapy to address inmates offending behavior. Some offenders commit crimes due to their deeply rooted psychological   problems such as poor upbringing, growing up without parental care or raised in a violent set up.

Inmates undergo various sporting and recreational activities as part of stress management and improvement of their physical health. Inmates are involved in the following programmes
